• GROWING MORE. USING LESS.

  • WHO WE ARE

We believe everyone desrves access to fresh healthy food.

EcoCentric Farms was founded by Kimberly and Shanta' Jackson in 2011. We live in Bakersfield, California, one of the most diverse agricultural regions in the country. Yet, it's often a struggle to find affordable organic food in our local markets.

    HEALTHY. DELICIOUS.

We believe that everyone deserves the right to choose fresh, locally grown, nutritionally sound food. Our goal is to increase our community's access to sustainably grown organic food. By making maximum use of natural resources, increasing yield per square foot, and only distributing locally allows us to offer healthy meal alternatives at comparable prices to conventionally farmed food.

  • WHAT WE DO

Aquaponics is the integration of aquaculture and hydroponic gardening. The fish provide plant nutrients and the plants filter the water for the fish.

    Growing More... Using Less

    Bakersfield, California

We design, construct, and operate innovative aquaponic and hydroponic grow systems both commercial and residential scale. We employ and have expertise in several methods including:

    Nutrient Film Technique
    Deep Water Culture
    The Kratky Method

    Vertical gardening

The most productive is the vertical aquaponic grow system operated by EcoCentric. It only uses 10% of the water used by farms of the same scale, is 10 times more productive per square foot than horizontal NFT, generates its own organic fish feed and plant fertilizer.

Enclosed in a 1,500 square foot greenhouse we produce food year round and distribute locally.
